About Us

Quintavia is a small select show home based in Birmingham where our passion is exhibiting our dogs. We breed Top Quality Cocker Spaniels from Show Winning parents.

We have enjoyed some success with our dogs in the show ring ,most if not all have qualified for Crufts for life, two of our dogs have also been awarded a CC and RCC'S. We have also bred an Irish Show Champion. Our stud dogs sire quality, healthy puppies and our girls produce super quality puppies which make excellent family pets or show dog's.

As a child my family wasn't in a position to own a dog as both of my parents worked full time. I had to make do with 'Eve' a tortoiseshell cat who was a very independent cat and superb rat catcher! Many a dead rat could be found on the doorstep most morning's and quite often mice in the lounge and on our bed's! The school we lived at provided plenty of rats for Eve to catch and she was well known in the area for her rat catching abilities.

Eventually I married and along came our family......Again a dog was not an option for us due to work commitments. A friend of ours owned a beautiful blue roan cocker and I decided that if I ever owned a dog it would be a Cocker Spaniel.

Eventually we were in a position to offer a dog a home and after some research into cocker spaniels we decided that a cocker was the breed for us.

Along came Poppy a Blue Roan Bitch with the sweetest nature. Poppy taught me so much about the breed and I am forever grateful to her. I decided to try my hand at Exemption shows, now Companion shows and Poppy was a big winner...I was hooked! Our son Adam had a great time with Poppy in junior handling, he even managed to keep smiling when Poppy jumped off the table when the judge was going over her to make her way over to the cake stall's! As Adam out grew dogs showing in favour of football Chelsea took over as junior handler.

I decided I would like to take showing a bit more seriously and began my search for a solid cocker. Out of the blue I had a phone call offering me Peggy, Charbonnel Playtime. The first time I saw her I was smitten....she was the most beautiful girl, and a pleasure to live with. Peggy was to become the foundation of our solid line, she is now a Grandmother, passing on her sweet temperament to her children and grandchildren Peggy produced some wonderful children for me including Quintavia Quantum Leap and Quintavia Quintessence, Quintavia Enigma ( Dam of Quintavia Rock N Rose ) and Quintavia Quintessential who was only lightly shown.

Poppy became the foundation of our parti-colour line and she is now a Great Grandmother, she too passed on her lovely nature to her offspring which included Quintavia Starring Lady, Sally who later produced Quintavia Starry Eyed who in turn produced Quintavia Stars In Her Eyes JW and Quintavia Star Stopper.

So here we are several years later and my love for the cocker spaniel is even stronger. My lovely daughter Chelsea has been involved with our dogs since she started primary school, showing and grooming our dogs with great expertise. Chelsea has had considerable success with her own dogs and now has her own line consisting of 3 generations of her own breeding. Lawnswae Ribbon who is a daughter or our own Quintavia Show Stopper was brought in from the Lawnswae kennels after a visit to see the lovely litter sired by Ringo. Ribbon produced Quintavia Lacey who enjoyed much success in the show ring. Lacey then went on to produce Quintavia Stop and Stare JW.

Chelsea and I both own the Quintavia Affix and we hope to continue breeding Quality, Healthy, Cocker Spaniels.
