Chelsea's Page

Hi and welcome to my page. Here you will find some of my favourite photo's and a bit about my involvement with the dogs.

I have been handling since I was about 5/6 and started off with Junior Handling classes, where I enjoyed a lot of success, qualifying for the Junior handling Semi Finals every year until I was 16! When I was about 12, I became more interested in competing in breed classes rather than Junior Handling, and started showing Alice (Quintavia Starry Eyed.) Alice did really well in the ring qualifying for Crufts at her first championship show, where she won Best Puppy Bitch.

In 2006 after a visit to Beryl Edwards house to visit a litter sired by Quintavia Show Stopper, I fell in love with Ribbon and Beryl kindly let me have Ribbon to show. I really enjoyed my time in the ring with her and was pleased to gain a 3rd at Crufts 07. She has been well placed at all shows attended, her highlights include:

  • Best Puppy In Show at Cheshire Cocker Club
  • Reserve Best In Show at Midland Cocker Club
  • Best In Show at North Wales Cocker Club

Then we reach 2008...

To start off, Ribbon had a litter of pups by Classicway Chinwag at Rosbercon JW, from which we kept Lacey, and what a star she has turned out to be! To make it better I am the 'breeder' and 'owner' after becoming a registered interest in the Quintavia affix.

Ribbon had a bit of a break from the show ring after having her puppies, but she came back in style at the Cocker Club champ show in July where she gained her Stud Book Number!

Since August, I have been campaigning Lacey. Her wins include:

  • Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy in Breed at Birmingham City Champ show
  • BPIB, BOB, PG1 and BPIS at Rugeley and District open show
  • BPIS at East Anglia Cocker open Show
  • BPIS Lancashire Cocker open show
  • 1st MPB Darlington Champ show
  • BPIB, BOB & PG3 at Coventry (Foleshill) & District Open show

I think this page is overdue an update.....!!

2010 has been a complete whirl-wind, the most successful year Mum and I have had with the dogs since we started showing.

Lacey took and unexpected break in 2009 to have a litter to Quintavia Star Stopper, from which we kept Quintavia Stop and Stare (Ronnie) who is the 3rd generation bred by me.

We thought we would have some ‘fun’ with Ronnie, but did not expect the amazing time in the ring we had! To make it even better, he is very mischievous yet loving and has given me and others many laughs.

Ronnie started his show career by qualifying for Crufts at his first championship show under Jean Gilmour (Chavez) Following this he took Best Puppy In Breed, Puppy Group 1 and Reserve Best Puppy In Show at West Bromwich and Wednesbury Open Show, the following week, Ronnie won Best Puppy In Show & Best Minor Puppy In Show at North Midlands Eastern Counties Open Show under Breed Specialist Kim Gain (Molkara).

Things went even better in 2010, with Ronnie winning:

  • Best Puppy In Breed Coventry LKA Open Show – Russell Mosedale
  • Best Puppy In Show North Midlands Eastern Counties Champ Show – Jinty Gill Davies (on agreement with Chris Laverty)
  • Best Puppy Dog South Wales and Mon Cocker Champ Show – Adam Murray
  • Best Puppy In Breed Crufts – Sue Pudney
  • Best Puppy In Show North of England Cocker Champ Show – Meg Allard (on referee George Waite’s decision)
  • Best Puppy Dog Midland Cocker Champ Show – Linda Robinson
  • Best Puppy In Breed & Puppy Group 2 Newcastle (Staffs) Open Show – April Murray
  • Best Puppy In Show Devon & Cornwall Open Show – Denise Fox
  • Reserve Best In Show Rotherham Cocker Open Show – Ann Nugent
  • RCC London Cocker Spaniel Club Champ Show – Jane Mitchell

Ronnie gained his Junior Warrant Title at 10 months, after just 4 months of being shown, he is also the 2nd homebred dog that won a RCC in 2010, which is a huge achievement for us. He finished 2010 being the 5th top Cocker Puppy (Points collected by Ian Scott/The Cocker Spaniel Club) He has also won 20 classes at Championship show level alone!!!!

I am so happy with how 2010 has gone for us and would like to sincerely thank ALL the judges who have thought so highly of all our dogs. I would also like to thank fellow Exhibitors who have been so supportive throughout the year. But most of all to my lovely Mom and Dad for their support and encouragement.
